Charlie Hooper's Bar and Grille (*Photo from Google Images*)

HERS:
Joe talked me into driving to Brookside - this is an adorable little shopping area! We compared it to an old English town. There are a lot of shops, restaurants, and cafes. Charlie Hooper's is slightly down the road from the other shops, but not hard to find. Seeing the large, wood tavern style door immediately made us turn and smile at one another. The atmosphere of Charlie Hooper's is very casual and laid-back. There is open seating and sports on every television. The place was packed with both older and younger alike cheering on the Royals. Ladies - lots of cute guys here! The menu is mostly bar-food staples like nachos, wings, burgers, etc. AMAZING DEALS! Please visit the website and check out the specials! We were there on a Wednesday and all imported beers were only $2.50! I think I saw Tuesdays are $1.00 draws! I have to say our service was rather crappy (having to chase down our waitress for another beer) but it was a busy night and to be expected. We ordered the spinach and artichoke dip to give the food a try. The food wasn't appealing to the eye but it was delicious! The tables and bathrooms were clean (rare for most sports bars) and the atmosphere was very comfortable. I really liked this bar and I'm sure we will be back!

HERS:

Please keep in mind here that we are not rich people. Joe and I are entry level professionals, and we are always excited to try a nicer restaurant when we have Groupons or coupons available. Joe had a coupon for the Bristol Seafood Grill so we decided to give it a try. The building was beautiful; they have indoor and outdoor seating available. Since it was nice outside (for about 5 minutes) we decided to sit outside on the patio. The atmosphere of the patio is casual and romantic. They have both tables and lounge chairs as well as a fireplace. All servers and bussers were well dressed and polite. A young man with a tray         brought out biscuits frequently to our table. We weren't quite familiar with the menu and our waitress did not make us feel bad or stupid for asking questions. The price ranges of the entres are anywhere from $23 - $40 a plate (hence why we were there with a coupon). The Rainbow Trout was cooked to perfection and absolutely mouth watering. I have never had such delicious, fresh fish in Kansas. Our waitress informed us that their fish is flown in fresh every morning. My overall experience was fantastic! I would say this would be a great place to take someone you are trying to impress (like a date, or a client). Note: Make sure to visit their website and sign up for their newsletter for free coupons and offers from the restaurant.

ABOUT ME:

Welcome! My name is Alexandria. I am a 22 year old accountant. I just recently graduated from the University of Kansas, Rock Chalk! I work and live in the Overland Park area. My best friend Joe and I love to travel around Kansas City and try new things and have new experiences. We came up with the idea to start writing our experiences down so other people have a young adult's perspective on the activities available in the Kansas City area. I hope you enjoy our blog and come back for seconds!
